For ten years Melbourne’s Spike Fuck has existed more as a messy myth than an artist –
sporadic works forever poised on the precipice of triumph, rumours of death or insanity and so
on. Spike’s foray into music in 2015 served a cultural fantasy, not by any overarching sense of
ambition, but rather a would-be, cosplay pop star arrested by his own devices and whose
melancholy wove through unlikely cultural circles. His sole body of work, The Smackwave EP
(Partisan Records), addressed themes as literal as the title suggests: drug use, gender identity,
religion and existentialism. Soon after its release, Spike was swept up in the whirlwind of
unexpected success, moving from underground warehouse parties to being draped in high
fashion and editorial photoshoots accompanied by interviews, in which he gave unrelenting and
uncensored details of his life.
On the precipice of breakthrough, Spike disappeared. Bootleg uploads and comments on old
YouTube videos discussed possibilities that seemed wild but believable, given Spike’s nature,
fueling rumours of monastic solitude, relapse, or reinvention as a LinkedIn-worthy daytime
professional. Only the most sincere have kept his myth alive.
Returning in 2024 after a four-year hiatus, Spike has returned sober, clear-eyed, and
transformed. Spike is no longer alone with a backing track, but fronting a rotating full band.
Together they channel ’70s glam, spiritual soul, and damaged rock’n’roll; always refracted
through Spike’s unmistakable, bruised, and poetic voice.

His career is marked by a deep connection to the city’s underground culture and a reputation as a highly influential figure in electronic music history.

With a community-minded ethos reminiscent of the 1960s Laurel Canyon scene and songs that feel both timeless and present-day, Dermot Henry is a vital new voice. Summoning heroes like Adrianne Lenker and Elliott Smith, his rustic, alt-folk sound combines that world-wise outlook with a modern approach that is already building the 23-year-old a cult following.
Mixing the comfort with the new, ‘My Favourite Book Is One I’ve Read A Bunch’, says Dermot, was written “whilst apart from everyone I love. I spent a lot of time away from home last year. This is one of the only true love songs I have written, although it is more like a song of reassurance; love, when not able to manifest itself in physical attraction or time spent together, must be trusted to be lying still with intention.” B-Side ‘Little Rib’, meanwhile, is more contemplative, as Dermot embraces the existential: “the fact we are on a rock in nothingness and our molecules are able to connect with other people’s molecules is absurd. Sometimes the only way to approach this is through absurdity.”
Dermot Henry was born in Wiltshire, raised on a diet of his parents’ records that ranged from The Beatles and Tom Waits to Nina Simone. Musically he cut his teeth during a year abroad living in Paris for his degree, where he would busk on the city streets. In one particularly cinematic scene, he walked into a bar to see a stranger playing the classic ‘Freight Train’ by Elizabeth Cotten – as they forgot the words, Dermot Henry jumped up on stage to sing and found his new busking partner. This same spirit of spontaneity, openness – life’s surprises, and its imperfections – are to be found on his EP, Aiming Torches At The Sun. Recorded in Frome with Dom Monks (Big Thief, Michael Kiwanuka, Laura Marling), the result is a body of work that feels instinctive, intimate, and lived in – like a favourite pair of jeans, or that ‘Favourite Book’.

Taking over sweaty New York venues and curbside congregations, bloodsports has become an undeniable force with their latest lineup—Sam Murphy (guitar/vocals), Jeremy Mock (guitar), Liv Eriksen (bass/vocals), and Scott Hale (drums)—finding solace in sonic strain where angular sedition collides with economical melodies that ease the weight of self-destruction. Their long-awaited debut album Anything Can Be A Hammer marks a bold evolution, embracing a more dynamic, mature approach as the band balances experimentation and curiosity with rhythmic blows and emotional depth; fragile yet abundant, the record leans into patience and interior tension, with Murphy’s lyricism blurring the line between what we know and what we think we know—it’s an album with blood in its veins and a finger on the pulse. The release quickly caught fire with praise from Stereogum, Vice, Alternative Press, Consequence, and more, leading to a support slot on They Are Gutting A Body of Water’s sold-out album release show and performances alongside Starcleaner Reunion and Brutus VII. In 2026, the Brooklyn four-piece is set to take their hard-hitting live show to SXSW, across the country, and around the world.

South London MC’s Dutch & Graft , formally known as ‘The Manor’, have made a name for themselves over the years for their lively but charismatic sound, larger-than-life events, and cult following across the UK and abroad.
Hailing from South East London, the movement started specifically in Beckenham, where the boys threw regular iconic events and carved their own distinct corner of the UK scene, bringing their local support with them. The boys have continued to craft a one-of-a-kind sound with rap, grime, indie, garage, and house influences whilst keeping an unequivocally British, honest, and self-deprecating style.

that recalled the chaos of classic house-party punk shows. Their electrifying presence
has led to sold-out shows, festival slots at Leeds and All Points East, and U.S. dates
opening for The Smashing Pumpkins. Praised by Rolling Stone UK, NME, and Zane Lowe,
bby’s discography has amassed nearly 30 million streams, landing them on the BBC
Radio 1 playlist and the U.S. ALT charts. With a residency at Colour Factory and major
festival appearances already behind them, their rise is just beginning.

BISHOPS
A band that should need no introduction at this point. Forming only a year ago,
Bishops have become staples of the Leeds alternative indie scene. Blending
elements of Post-Punk, Dance Music and Britpop to craft a distinguishable sound
tailored to them. Set with a goal to be a breath of fresh air in a scene polluted with
landfill bands, they have been steadily conquering the UK with their chaotic music
and dominating support slots for bands like Steelers, Rollups and Pulled Apart By
Horses.
Bishops are ones to keep your eyes on.
SCARLETT
A new indie band – riff driven and sweaty. Their songs channel the chaos and tension
of youth, pairing raw lyricism with coming-of-age melodies to create angry yet
euphoric anthems. Their live set is a journey through emotional highs and lows, with
waves of nostalgia and a rough, honest, lived-in energy. With two upcoming singles
being mixed, Scarlett are establishing themselves as a band to watch.
MODERN MISSUS
A Leeds-based alternative-pop band fronted by two female vocalists, Lucy Hall and
Phoebe Rose.
Serious situations, unserious songs. Modern Missus find the humour in life’s bad
moments, turning the chaos into music that doesn’t take itself too seriously.
With new music in the works and their sights set on the Leeds live scene, Modern
Missus are just getting started.

The Haunted Youth – the band behind Joachim Liebens – might be the biggest Belgian indie rock sensation of the last few years. After their critically acclaimed debut Dawn of the Freak took Europe by storm, their long-awaited album Boys Cry Too was released on May 8, 2026.
With debut single Teen Rebel, The Haunted Youth quickly became a dream pop phenomenon in Belgium and beyond, with hazy indie textures and melancholic charm winning hearts across the globe. Dawn of the Freak was named album of the week in Rolling Stone France and single Gone single of the year by Studio Brussel in 2022. The band toured relentlessly behind the record, hitting Rock Werchter, Pukkelpop, Lowlands, Sziget and Iceland Airwaves, and picking up international airplay along the way.
Now there’s Boys Cry Too, Liebens’ second album. From the towering eight-minute opener in my head (a song that ends with Liebens screaming himself raw amidst howls of feedback), to the final, haunted strum of ghost girl, Boys Cry Too presents a viscerally powerful journey through loss, despair, heartache, rage and hope. It’s a record fuelled by emotional turmoil – see deathwish‘s self-destructive roar or the defiant punk rock crunch of forget me – but one that also reveals a naked vulnerability, reflected in the crystalline beauty of emo song and hurt, and the emotionally raw confessions within Liebens’ lyrics.
“The first half of the record is basically how everyone sees a boy when he’s heartbroken: he puts his walls up, he’s paranoid, he’s angry, he’s aggressive. But then the second half is this whole other story – it’s vulnerable,” Liebens says. “I want to show the vulnerable part of men and boys and celebrate it instead of making it this whole stigma that’s been going on for so long.”
The Boys Cry Too release tour sold 14K+ tickets across Europe, ending in a 4-day sold out run at Cirque Royal
