Emerging in 2022 from Cumbria, United Kingdom, Danny Dunnery blends indie rock and pop into a genre-defying sound.
Danny Dunnery is a 28-year-old indie rock/pop songwriter from Cumbria, known for gritty, emotive lyrics that cut close and connect fast. As the creative force behind his band, he writes raw, melodic songs shaped by late nights and lived experience – music that hits hard, feels honest, and pulls people in.

“I don’t write sad songs, I write lonely songs,” declares Slow Leaves in the liner notes to his 2025 album In Solitude, For Company. His assertion could serve as a thesis statement for a body of work with recurrent themes of love, loss, loneliness, memory, and time. Slow Leaves is the project of Winnipeg’s Grant Davidson who, in spite of the more conventional approach, quit his job at thirty-three to begin a music career in earnest. Awarded Western Canadian Music Awards Songwriter of the Year, his folk and psych-rock inclinations are rooted in fingerpicking songwriters of the past, but live firmly in today’s post-genre landscape. On his newest release and sixth album of new material, The Ruins of Things Unfinished, Davidson explores his thoughts on ambition and the long setting sun of a life dedicated to art and family. “I’ve somehow made a career of self-perceived failure,” he writes. “I’ve often reflected on whether that mindset fulfills its own prophecy; quite possibly. But I think at heart I’m not seeking greatness, at least not outside my own little world.” The Ruins of Things Unfinished is an album that looks for beauty in the rubble of life’s wreckage. It came out May 1 on Birthday Cake Records and Make My Day Records in G/S/A/Benelux.

Minor Slip is the Felte debut from Shaki Tavi, the main project of Oklahoma-born, LA-based DIY lifer Leon Manson and a cadre of friends and commiserators. Through layered squalls of fuzzed-out guitars and overdriven drums, deceptively beautiful pop hooks emerge, illuminated by Manson’s weathered, harmonized baritone and knack for inventive structures. Tracing the record’s origins to a phase of burnout and disillusionment, he recalls, “I started just sitting down with some minimal effects and gear, playing riffs, and asking myself, ‘What if it could be fun?
What if it could be for me?’” The result is powerful, vulnerable, catchy, and uncommonly genuine, an eruption of creative force from the child of rock musicians, whose passion and drive emerged as a small town outsider, and strengthened amid the artifice and fend-for-yourself reality of LA.
Lead single, “Breaker”, combines a mid tempo breakbeat with prismatic guitars and laid back vocals, in a cross-pollination of genres that distills Manson’s years in different bands and scenes into a sincere, uncompromising vision. On “Foam”, skull-rattling riffs and a howling guitar hook soar over Big Beat drums, equally evoking arena-sized grandeur and jangly sway. The fullness and ambition in Manson’s arrangements developed over the course of a few years of writing, revising, and recording. He recalls, “After some surprising feedback to a couple of bedroom demos, I got my bandmates into the studio to make more polished versions; this second phase involved a familiar kind of existential drift and doubt, but the solution was the same as always: keep it simple, make stuff I like, and go from there.”
Despite his singular vision, Manson’s dedication to community runs deep; he has worked at LA’s creative non-profit Non Plus Ultra for years, and while acknowledging the massive scale of the West Coast arts scene, he notes, “The upside of th

“Expect the unexpected.” The motto of Tomi Ungerer, Strasbourg’s enfant terrible, could have been written for Pales. Born in the depths of a cellar in 2021, the quintet has no time for classifications: they forge a raw, visceral sound where industrial, noise and trip-hop collide, evoking Massive Attack, Sonic Youth and Dry Cleaning.
Brought to European attention with their EP CRUSH, the band have built their reputation on stage, where their performances induce an irrepressible trance, constantly skirting the boundaries of chaos. The sound hits hard, hypnotises, triggers spasms and conjures up the smells of cosmetics and burning rubber.
Catch Pales live on tour across the UK in November 2026.

Originally formed in Southampton, Bristol-based gumdrop creates post-punk and shoegaze inspired sounds their own way. You’ll find an electrifying blend of fuzzy, stargazing guitars, ice cold bass lines and industrial, synthesised melodies, all guided by punching drumbeats. A quintessential DIY band, gumdrop also hold a focus on analogue gear and hand-made visuals, opting for a hands-on approach in this digital era.
