11.6 Friday (Hip-Hop) Sean Healey presents: DEANTE\' HITCHCOCK with Special Guests 7:30pm, 21+ Hidden Hall 400 N 35th St hiddenhall.com Atlanta-bred lyricist Deante Hitchcock has built a career on a rare balance of technical precision and emotional honesty, positioning himself as one of the South’s most compelling storytellers. Raised in Riverdale, Georgia, Hitchcock grew up immersed in the evolving Atlanta sound—studying icons like OutKast and Young Thug while developing a voice that bridges introspection, humor, and vulnerability. Born on March 10, 1993, a “Grady Baby” from Atlanta’s southside, Hitchcock began rapping at 12, sharpening his skills through freestyles and early mixtapes. While attending Georgia Southern University as a pre-med student, he launched his *New Atlanta Tuesdays* freestyle series, viral dorm-room videos that ultimately pushed him to leave school and pursue music full-time. That leap resulted in a steady run of independent projects, including *19 Summers* (2012), *Wishful Thinking* (2015), *Good* (2016), and *So Much for Good Luck* (2017), each sharpening his reputation as a thoughtful and technically gifted MC. Hitchcock’s profile expanded in 2019 through collaborations and key industry co-signs. His appearance on “PTSD” from Revenge of the Dreamers III—alongside Omen, Mereba, and St. Beauty—earned him a Grammy nomination and introduced him to a broader audience via Dreamville Records. Around the same time, support from figures like Charlamagne tha God, Wale, and Mark Pitts helped cement his rising status. Before releasing a full-length album, Hitchcock had already toured with a wide range of artists including JID, Rapsody, 6LACK, Wale, and Jidenna—developing a reputation as a dynamic live performer well before his commercial breakthrough. In 2020, Hitchcock released his major-label debut *BETTER*, a project that showcased his lyrical depth and emotional range amid the uncertainty of the pandemic. He followed with *Live From Quarantine*...

11.7 Saturday (Americana) Hidden Hall & The PBJ Present: THE LAST REVEL Nathaniel Riley Matthew "Rev" Rieger (of Lil\' Smokies) 8pm doors 8:30pm show 21+ Hidden Hall 400 N 35th St hiddenhall.com Much like their sorrowful, purposeful melodies, the members of The Last Revel contain this thick thread of self, and of place, when it comes to the underlying trait in the sounds and scope of their intent, onstage and in the studio — survival mode. “Honestly, I don’t know if we would’ve been able to do this career for as long as we have without persistence,” says guitarist Lee Henke. “By living in a challenging place, it’s definitely conditioned us to have a high tolerance for discomfort, a certain toughness to push ahead.” That sentiment of tenacity and passion lies at the heart of The Last Revel’s latest album, Gone for Good. Produced by Trampled by Turtles lead singer Dave Simonett, the record is a multilayered ode to the life of an artist, life on the road, and what it means to be a human being in uncertain times. “This is a step in our careers that feels like there’s no going back,” says banjoist Ryan Acker. “There’s a level of commitment now that, just a couple of years ago, we didn’t fathom we could take on. The boat is off the shore and you can’t see land anymore — we’re in it now.” Based in Minneapolis, Minnesota, the Americana/indie-folk outfit harkens to the trials, tribulations, and triumphs of what it means to pursue your dreams in real time. The foundation of which is conjured by a deep appreciation and genuine respect for the vast landscape and sometimes-harsh realities of what it means to emerge from the Midwest. “We grew up in the Midwest and we’ve all kind of stayed in this region of the country,” Henke notes. “This place has imprinted itself on who we are, and that challenge of life here is part of who we are now.” Alongside Henke and Acker is fiddler Vinnie Donatelle. When the ensemble finds themselves behind the microphone, it’s the culmination of their...

Released on 15 May 2026 via Ourness and preceded by the singles "PIRATE RADIO," "DEATH CULT ZOMBIE," "STAMPEDE," and "LIFE KEEPS GOING," the record features guest appearances from Duckwrth and Ladyhawke, and has been met with widespread critical acclaim. Pitchfork praised the way Owusu "folds together post-industrial dissonance, globe-trotting influences, and stinging social commentary," positioning him as "a unifying node in a post-everything landscape." The album unfolds as an eclectic musical journey, where Neo-Soul feeds into Alt Pop, Synth Punk into Funk, and genre borders dissolve into a vibrant, layered soundscape. It captures moments of collective ecstasy and desolation, resistance and joy, dance and reflection, while Owusu channels his sharpened lyricism into a reflection of the world\'s unrest. Written from a sense of necessity, the album is a piercing commentary on the political, social, and economic turmoil of contemporary society. Owusu ruminates on institutional corruption, the rise of extremism, and the fractures of modern life, while also calling for unity and brotherhood. The opening track, "PIRATE RADIO," sets the tone with its frantic instrumentation and unflinching honesty, followed by songs such as "STAMPEDE," "BLESSED ARE THE MEEK," and "THE WORLDWIDE SCOURGE," which tackle far-right politics, genocide, and media manipulation. The Breaks brings together guitarist Eddie Roberts (The New Mastersounds) , drummer Stanton Moore (Galactic) , and organist Robert Walter (The Greyboy Allstars) —three musicians whose collective groove has shaped the sound of contemporary funk for over two decades. Rooted in the tradition of late-’60s organ trios and hard-hitting boogaloo, The Breaks pushes the sound forward with deep-pocket rhythms, tight arrangements, and fearless improvisation. Eddie Roberts’ sharp, melodic guitar work dances effortlessly over Stanton Moore’s explosive New Orleans-infused drum grooves, while Robert Walter’s signature Hammond organ tones tie it all together with grit and soul. Between them, they’ve logged countless tours, recorded landmark albums, and collaborated with a who’s-who of the modern jam, funk, and jazz worlds. But in The Breaks, the chemistry feels spontaneous—three kindred spirits locking into a groove and letting it ride. From sweaty club sets to major festival stages, The Breaks deliver a sound that’s both deeply rooted and constantly evolving—a raw, joyful celebration of rhythm and musical conversation.

11.13 Friday (Americana) Hidden Hall & The PBJ Present: GOODNIGHT, TEXAS Stephanie Anne Johnson Forest Stoke (ft Zach Hamer of Kuinka) 8pm doors 8:30pm show 21+ Hidden Hall 400 N 35th St hiddenhall.com Goodnight, Texas is a band you’ve almost certainly heard somewhere. You’re going through their catalog, hearing lyrics about trapped coal miners and lovebird bank robbers. Banjos and mandolins, genre tough to pin down. Now you’re interested, so you go see them live. The show is swelling to a fever pitch, and suddenly they’re singing devastating harmonies off mic, then rocking again, full tilt. The band’s most recent album Signals is a raucous one. Its first single, “RUNAWAYS,” even features a guest solo from Metallica’s Kirk Hammett, who admired the band’s version of “Of Wolf and Man” on the 2022 charity covers album The Metallica Blacklist. Beyond the memorable sock-you-in-the-face riffs, GN, TX seems to be stretching sonic roots deeper in every direction on Signals , with studio help from Oakland’s Ian and Jay Pellicci (Deerhoof, Tune-Yards). Stories of the Americana of yore blend into the near past and present via tales of DB Cooper and North Dakota oil field workers. Electric guitars pound like hammers, but the mandolins still twinkle like dim stars.

Widely loved & narrowly hated for her unfiltered and direct lyrics, DAMAG3 has built her fanbase–ironically rather quickly–with her “one fan at a time” approach. DAMAG3 believes in 1:1 connections, and has built a community glued together by principles beyond the music. DAMAG3’s music is unforgettable. Her energy is electric, full of charisma & the lyrics are as poignant and thought-provoking as they are cutthroat and uncompromising Comparisons are common (Rico Nasty, JID, Denzel Curry) but nothing quite describes DAMAG3 better than a DAMAG3 song.

Well known for bringing unrivaled energy to the stage with sing-along anthems, double-brother harmonies, and a powerful message that combined make for one of the most captivating live shows ever! Frontman Nathan Thoen\'s passionate conviction and ‘Jagger-like’ dance moves even impressed billionaire and music industry icon Sir Richard Branson, quoting “I haven’t seen this type of energy since The Rolling Stones!” – and he would know, having personally signed The Rolling Stones to Virgin Records. The band began with lead singer Nathan Thoen and guitarist Spencer Chilliak after the two spontaneously met and drove 16 hours to attend Sasquatch Music Festival where they became inspired to start a band. The duo wrote their debut single “Let It Grow” during their very first writing session and as part of Bombargo’s debut EP Back on Main which would go on to be included in “The Top 10 Best Saskatchewan Albums of 2015” by SaskMusic. This further inspired them to continue writing, touring, and release their first full-length album titled We Are Bombargo. The group has since evolved into a 5-piece touring band adding Nathan’s brother Anthony Thoen on guitar, additional brothers Matt and Sammy Folkersen on keys and bass respectively, and Niall Cubbon on drums.

Now, with the release of "Got to Be for Something," that collaboration steps fully into the spotlight. The first single from their forthcoming collaborative album — due in early 2027 — the track is rooted in the deep soul tradition de León draws from, channeling the weight and fire of Aretha Franklin\'s most powerful work. 12.1 Tuesday (Funk / Jazz / R&B) Hidden Hall & The PBJ Present: ISAIAH SHARKEY with Midpak 7:30pm doors 8pm show 21+ Hidden Hall 400 N 35th St hiddenhall.com A native Chicagoan, Isaiah Sharkey spent his early years living in Cabrini Green. Perhaps as a precursor to his future career, he lived with his parents in a row house on a street that is now named for Curtis Mayfield. Coming from a musical household, Isaiah was introduced to music at the age of four. He decided he wanted to be a guitarist and asked his parents to purchase one. Shortly thereafter, Isaiah started learning music under the close introduction of his father, Michael Sharkey. He would learn about different musical genres/styles from gospel music, which came from growing up in the church, to jazz, R&B, blues, rock and funk music. It wasn\'t long after that Isaiah would become noticed by other musicians in the Chicago area for being a young, new talent. Soon after, he started doing concerts in the church as well as sitting in local jazz club jams. At the age of 14, Isaiah, along with his father and brothers, released their first album entitled, "Skyliner." This album displayed Isaiah\'s ability to play covers and some transcriptions from greats like Wes Montgomery and George Benson. Subsequently, he started his recording career and served as a sideman for gospel artists such as Smokie Norful, Donald Lawrence and Vanessa Bell Armstrong. He also toured as lead guitarist with Ronald Isley and recorded two albums with him. In 2009, Isaiah started working with artist D\'Angelo on his third album, Black Messiah, which won the 2015 Grammy Award for Best R&B Album. Based on his work and contribution to the project, Isaiah received his first Grammy.

12.2 Wednesday (ROCK) Serdar Ilhan presents Turkish Hard Rock sensation: MOR VE ÖTESI 7pm, 21+ Nectar Lounge 412 N 36th St www.nectarlounge.com A main attraction in the Turkish alternative rock scene, Mor Ve Ötesi followed a very rough path and had their breakthrough only after their fourth effort. Once a band against capitalism and everything it brought upon the new world, they were, album by album, accepted into the mainstream as a modern rock band singing Turkish lyrics. An inspiration to many bands and the voice of a generation, Mor Ve Ötesi is a top-notch band defining the direction that Turkish rock is headed in. Mor Ve Ötesi was formed by Kerem Kabadayi (drums), Harun Tekin (vocals/guitar), Derin Esmer (vocals/guitar), and Alper Tekin (bass) in 1995. Commencing work on songs immediately, the band released the debut album Sehir (“The City”) in 1996. The album was an amateur effort with the band looking more like a group of high school kids. Nevertheless, they managed to produce a hit with “Yalniz Sarki,” which was also featured in the Hasan Yükselir compilation released by ADA Muzik. A year and many gigs later, Burak Güven (who shouldn’t be confused with the bass player of Bulutsuzluk Özlemi) replaced Alper Tekin on bass. Their second album was released in 1999. Brak Zaman Aksin (“Let the Time Flow”) was more like the debut, but better produced, better played, and apparently better written. Although the album fell short of receiving much attention, it contained some hints of what Mor Ve Ötesi could accomplish. Harun Tekin and Derin Esmer traded vocal duties for the last time, as Esmer left the band after the release. Kerem Özyegen was chosen as the guitarist. In 2000, Mor Ve Ötesi participated in the tribute album to Bülent Ortaçgil with their version of “Sen Varsin.” Özyegen, along with the new producer Tarkan Gozubuyuk — bass player with metal pioneers Mezarkabul — provided the much-needed new blood for the band. Third album Gül Kendine (“Laugh at...
